Philomena
A customizable wedding website platform built after one custom project revealed a bigger problem.

A couple asked Petracore to build a custom website for their wedding. Delivering it surfaced a much bigger problem — one shared by nearly every couple planning a wedding today.
One wedding site became a platform
The idea for Philomena began in 2024 after a couple approached Petracore to build a custom website for their wedding — a dedicated place to share their story, event details, photos, and important information with guests. After delivering the project, Petracore looked more closely at the problem behind the request and found it wasn't unique to one couple.
Wedding communication was increasingly moving online, but couples were relying on a patchwork of messaging apps, social media, printed invitations, payment details, photo platforms, and spreadsheets to manage different parts of the experience. What started as a one-off build became the foundation for Philomena — a platform that lets couples create and manage their own wedding website without commissioning a new one from scratch.
One product, two very different users
Philomena had to give couples creative freedom while staying simple to set up, serve two very different users — couples who need administrative control and guests who need an effortless experience — and bring several parts of the wedding experience together without feeling crowded.
The platform needed to work for many couples with different wedding styles, guest lists, stories, and planning requirements — not just the one it was originally built for. Couples needed administrative control over their wedding experience, while guests needed to view information, send wishes, RSVP, and give monetary gifts without navigating anything complicated.

One link, everything a guest needs
Philomena gives couples one central place to create, manage, publish, and share their wedding online — designed around the interactions between couples and guests before, during, and after the wedding, rather than as a static site.
What couples set up on their wedding page
- Theme & personalizationChoose a theme and personalize it with names, wedding date, photos, and their story.
- Couple's story & photo galleryA home page and gallery that carry the couple's own narrative and images.
- Event detailsSchedules and information for every ceremony, in one place guests can always find.
- WishesGuest messages, reviewed by the couple before they appear publicly.
- RSVPsGuests respond directly on the site; couples approve or decline from their dashboard.
- Monetary giftsGuests can send gifts through the site instead of couples sharing payment details separately.

A dedicated admin dashboard lets couples manage their wedding without technical support: updating information, managing RSVPs and guest details, approving or rejecting wishes, changing images, and controlling what's displayed — with every change reflected on the live site immediately.
Because Philomena serves many couples rather than one wedding, Petracore built it as a reusable platform where each couple independently creates and manages their own experience — making it possible to keep introducing new themes and features without rebuilding a website for every couple.
